Central London Court Halts Evictions
The Central London Court have sent an email which warns that County Court bailiff appointments have been suspended for the ‘foreseeable future’.
This means that landlords looking to evict tenants face a further delay in recovering their property. An alternative route is available via High Court enforcement, however permission to transfer up is required under Section 42 of the County Courts Act 1984 before proceeding. If this permission is not already included within the Order for Possession, it can be sought by submitting form N244 into the Court, however the granting of the permission is at the discretion of the Judge.
Any landlord, their agent or representative wishing to instruct Court Enforcement Services to recover their property can contact our team directly on 01993 220557. Further information on our eviction services can be found here.
