Court Enforcement Services Supports Stress Awareness Month and Launches Employee Assistance Programme
Stress Awareness Month has been held every April since 1992 to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for our modern stress epidemic. Despite it running for 29 years we have got a long way to go. According to the Mental Health Foundation 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.
Being faced with the enforcement process can be a very stressful time. Court Enforcement Services is committed to treating people fairly, with dignity and respect to make the process less stressful.
Our Welfare team help customers to access support by signposting them to debt and mental health charities to ensure they are not alone and feel supported. We are committed to ensuring that fair treatment is embedded in every engagement with clients, customers and staff through our Fairness Framework.
We have supported and retained our staff throughout the pandemic. We are probably the only business in the sector to have not imposed redundancies during these difficult times. We have completed more training than ever during the last year. The great support we have received from our staff means the business is in excellent shape and in a position to quickly return to business as usual when restrictions are lifted. We certainly have not been standing still and have taken every opportunity to move the business forward and develop our team.
We have launched a new Employee Assistance Programme, which, gives our staff 24/7 access to telephone support to talk about anything concerning them; bereavement, finances, coping mechanisms, alcohol consumption, relationship breakdowns or anything else they need to talk about. The service is completely free for them to use. During the last year, more than ever, it has become even more important to look after mental wellbeing as much as physical wellbeing.
